Smaller files, clearer pictures
- Export near 480 pixels on the long side unless a platform asks for a specific size. A 1080-wide GIF is often several times heavier.
- 12 to 15 frames per second is enough for most loops. Higher frame rates mostly add file size.
- Cut the color count before you cut the picture. 64 to 128 colors with dithering stays readable in chat.
When something goes wrong
The tab gets heavy
Lower the size or the frame count. The worker will say so if it runs out of memory, instead of freezing the page.
A preset disappeared
Custom presets live in this browser’s local storage. A private window or a cleared site storage removes them.
